Regine Velasquez, who is also known as the Asia's Songbird was hailed by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry or PARI as the Best-Selling Female Artist of All Time in the Philippines. She has sold more than 7,000,000 units in the country and selling 1,500,000 albums in other Asian countries.

Her installment of Covers, Vol. 1 and Covers, Vol. 2 received Platinum status within 3 weeks. Her album Low Key received Gold status within five days of its commercial release and considered as the first Platinum Record Award in the Philippines for the year 2009.
