Red FM (Ireland)
Cork's RedFM is an Irish radio station which broadcasts to Cork and the surrounding area, and is aimed at a youth audience.
Cork's RedFM commenced broadcasting at 08:00 on 16 January 2002. The station was awarded Ireland’s first youth radio licence. Its target market is 15-35 year olds in Cork city and county.
In its first three years on air, it had picked up 6 Phonographic Performance Ireland (PPI) National Radio awards. In March 2003, Cork's RedFM was awarded a Guinness Radio Advertising award for its creative work. In 2007 Cork's RedFM launched a road-safety campaign, titled Brake The Cycle, hoping to cut road-deaths in Cork City and County, for which it subsequently received a PPI award under the Community/Social Action category.
