Famous quotes containing the words red, deer and/or transit:

    Let’s face it, I have been momentary.
    A luxury. A bright red sloop in the harbor,
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

    The deer and the dachshund are one.
    Well, the gods grow out of the weather.
    The people grow out of the weather;
    The gods grow out of the people.
    Encore, encore, encore les dieux . . .
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

    My esoteric doctrine, is that if you entertain any doubt, it is safest to take the unpopular side in the first instance. Transit from the unpopular, is easy ... but from the popular to the unpopular is so steep and rugged that it is impossible to maintain it.
    William Lamb Melbourne, 2nd Viscount (1779–1848)
