RAF Officer Ranks - Air Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force

Air Training Corps and Combined Cadet Force

In the Air Training Corps, the rank system for officers is identical, but the highest rank is wing commander, with higher posts being held by regular RAF officers. Officers in the Air Training Corps are part of the RAFVR(T), and as such wear a small gold badge shaped as the letters VRT, with the T centrally below the VR. The same applies for the RAF section of the CCF.

Famous quotes containing the words air, training, corps, combined and/or force:

A slight daily unconscious luxury is hardly ever wanting to the dwellers in civilisation; like the gentle air of a genial climate, it is a perpetual minute enjoyment.
    Walter Bagehot (1826–1877)

The want of education and moral training is the only real barrier that exists between the different classes of men. Nature, reason, and Christianity recognize no other. Pride may say Nay; but Pride was always a liar, and a great hater of the truth.
    Susanna Moodie (1803–1885)

Many a woman shudders ... at the terrible eclipse of those intellectual powers which in early life seemed prophetic of usefulness and happiness, hence the army of martyrs among our married and unmarried women who, not having cultivated a taste for science, art or literature, form a corps of nervous patients who make fortunes for agreeable physicians ...
    Sarah M. Grimke (1792–1873)

I am absurdly fearful about this voyage. Various little omens have combined to give me a dark feeling.... Perhaps we shall live to laugh at these. But in case of mishap I should perish with my husband and child, perhaps to be transferred to some happier state.
    Margaret Fuller (1810–1850)

In Arms not worse, in foresight much advanc’t,
We may with more successful hope resolve
To wage by force or guile eternal Warr
    Irreconcileable, to our grand Foe,
    John Milton (1608–1674)
