KZKZ (AM) is the second radio station in the Philippines owned by Henry Hermann in 1922. It broadcasted with a 5-watt transmitter. In 1924, it boosted its power to 100 watts. A few months later, Radio Corporation of the Philippines bought KZKZ AM from Henry Hermann. In 1926 the organization began to work on constructing two of the largest radio stations in Asia with the idea of maintaining direct Manila-San Francisco service. In 1929, RCP launched KZRC in Cebu broadcasting with a 100-watt transmitter, but was later sold to store owner Isaac Beck (it is now DYRC owned by the Manila Broadcasting Company). However in 1970, RCP launched DYRB.

In 1960, it launched the first AM station in Region 4 called DZLT 1188. Recently, its transmitter fell during a typhoon. It is already fixing its transmitter & DZLT-AM will resume on October 2008.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

... in America ... children are instructed in the virtues of the system they live under, as though history had achieved a happy ending in American civics.
    Mary McCarthy (1912–1989)

Yet poetry, though the last and finest result, is a natural fruit. As naturally as the oak bears an acorn, and the vine a gourd, man bears a poem, either spoken or done. It is the chief and most memorable success, for history is but a prose narrative of poetic deeds.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

If you look at the 150 years of modern China’s history since the Opium Wars, then you can’t avoid the conclusion that the last 15 years are the best 15 years in China’s modern history.
    J. Stapleton Roy (b. 1935)
