Compulsory Sacrifice and Optional Sacrifice
It is compulsory for a person to first make sacrifice in his own name. Thereafter one may make optional sacrfice in the name of Muhammad, Prophets of Allah such as Jesus, Moses and on any other deceased Muslims. It is considered sinful in Islamic Shariah for a person to perform optional sacrifice and neglect the compulsory sacrifice.

- The Companions of the Muhammad
- The Jurists of Islam
- The saints of Islam
- One's teachers
The deceased benefit from the reward of the sacrificed animal
