Pure London

Pure London is a UK fashion buying exhibition, for womenswear, footwear, accessories, and young fashion. It is organised by EMAP and takes place in London every February and August. The event was held from 19–21 August 2012 at Olympia in Kensington, falling in between the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The trade-only event presents forward-order collections from over 1,000 fashion brands, with an audience of over 15,000 UK and worldwide retailers in attendance as audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. It includes clothing examples and catwalk performances, fashion talks and speeches. In addition to the brand showcases, Pure London features two stages of catwalk scenes, and a seminar programme addressing issues in fashion and retail. The trend forecasting business WGSN presents predictions as well as catwalk shows illustrating their research with clothing from the event.

Famous quotes containing the words pure and/or london:

I will use treatment to help the sick according to my ability and judgment, but never with a view to injury and wrongdoing. Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course. Similarly, I will not give to a woman a pessary to cause abortion. I will keep pure and holy both my life and my art.
    Hippocrates (c. 460–c. 370 B.C.)

In all the important preparations of the mind she was complete; being prepared for matrimony by an hatred of home, restraint, and tranquillity; by the misery of disappointed affection, and contempt of the man she was to marry. The rest might wait. The preparations of new carriages and furniture might wait for London and the spring, when her own taste could have fairer play.
    Jane Austen (1775–1817)
