California law excludes from evidence and discovery relevant statements made "for the purpose of, in the course of, or pursuant to, a mediation or a mediation consultation" through California Evidence Code ("CEC") ยงยง1115-1125, for the public policy purpose of encouraging the resolution of legal conflicts by mediation.
