Pro Gaming League

Pro Gaming League (PGL) was founded in September 2007 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The league has, since 2009, been abandoned by its owners and members due to lack of participation.

According to PGL founder Kyle Gronning, "The PGL is the equivalent to the American Major League Gaming (MLG), but the PGL is more focused on the players than its American counterpart." Gronning has been quoted as saying "Guys make so much money playing poker, why can't they do that with video games?"

Famous quotes containing the words pro, gaming and/or league:

It is sweet and honourable to die for one’s country.
[Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.]
Horace [Quintus Horatius Flaccus] (65–8 B.C.)

Sir, I do not call a gamester a dishonest man; but I call him an unsocial man, an unprofitable man. Gaming is a mode of transferring property without producing any intermediate good.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Stereotypes fall in the face of humanity. You toodle along, thinking that all gay men wear leather after dark and should never, ever be permitted around a Little League field. And then one day your best friend from college, the one your kids adore, comes out to you.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
