Her godparents are Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Princess Margrethe of Denmark. She is the fraternal twin sister of Prince Jean of Luxembourg.
Princess Margaretha studied in Luxembourg, partly at the European School, as well as in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Princess Margaretha has no official state role. However as a member of the Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Belgian royal families (she is a niece of King Albert of Belgium) she attends royal weddings and other family events.
Princess Margaretha is the patron of Dyslexia International.
