Prince Albert Arts Centre

Former Prince Albert City Hall now Prince Albert Arts Centre is a National Historic Site of Canada located at 1010 Central Ave. Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. Construction on this city Hall started in 1892, and was completed 1893. A. and W.B. Goodfellow Builders built the city hall with clock tower, opera house, and meeting room. As well as being a heritage site, it is still in operation today as an arts centre for various visual arts clubs and galleries for exhibitions. Between 1911 and 1937, the old City Hall helped to house the Prince Albert Public Library in its upstairs rooms.

Famous quotes containing the words prince, arts and/or centre:

    Milton’s the prince of poets—so we say;
    A little heavy, but no less divine:
    An independent being in his day—
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)

    Self-expression is not enough; experiment is not enough; the recording of special moments or cases is not enough. All of the arts have broken faith or lost connection with their origin and function. They have ceased to be concerned with the legitimate and permanent material of art.
    Jane Heap (c. 1880–1964)

    St. Augustine described the nature of God as a circle whose centre was everywhere, and its circumference nowhere.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
