The 6200 shares the logic board with the Power Macintosh 5200. Because they use a logic board design directly adapted from the 32-bit Quadra with a 64-bit data path CPU, these models are sometimes described as being among the worst Macintoshes ever produced. Other hardware issues include problems with the IDE controller, the SCSI controller and the serial ports. If problems happen at startup, as all of Apples old computers will play a death chime and at the same time display a sad mac unless it is generated by pressing various buttons. The death chime has been considered scary to some user of the computer. A three note bass-fanfare was used to make the sound.

Famous quotes containing the word power:
“A monarchy is the most expensive of all forms of government, the regal state requiring a costly parade, and he who depends on his own power to rule, must strengthen that power by bribing the active and enterprising whom he cannot intimidate.”
—James Fenimore Cooper (17891851)
