Famous quotes containing the words port, orange and/or causeway:

The very best place to be in all the world is St. Mary’s parish, Jamaica. And the best spot in St. Mary’s is Port Maria, though all of St. Mary’s is fine. Old Maker put himself to a lot of trouble to make that part of the island of Jamaica, for everything there is perfect.
    Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960)

A hook shot kisses the rim and
hangs there, helplessly, but doesn’t drop

and for once our gangly starting center
boxes out his man and times his jump

    perfectly, gathering the orange leather
from the air like a cherished possession
    Edward Hirsch (b. 1950)

    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
