Constituencies
Tripura sends 2 representatives to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India and 1 representative to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house. Auxiliary authorities known as panchayats, for which local body elections are regularly held, govern local affairs. Tripura has an autonomous tribal council, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council which has it head-quarters in Khumulwng.
