Pittsburgh Phantoms (NPSL)

The Pittsburgh Phantoms were a soccer team based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that played in the non-FIFA sanctioned National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). They played at Forbes Field, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team colors were purple and white.

Following the 1967 season, the NPSL merged with the United Soccer Association to form the North American Soccer League. The Phantoms folded before the 1968 NASL season due to poor attendance, drawing only an average of 3,122 - only the Chicago Spurs had a lower average.
