Piano in The Dark

"Piano in the Dark" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Brenda Russell (featuring backing vocals by Joe Esposito). It was the first single to be taken from Russell's 1988 album, Get Here. On the 45 rpm single of the song, the title is listed as "Piano In The Dark" and also as "Cry, Just A Little" in parenthesis, which is supposedly the entire title of the song. "Cry Just A Little" is actually a line that is sang over and over in the song's refrain portion.

Famous quotes containing the words piano in, piano and/or dark:

I will tell you what Jeanne was like. She was like a piano in a country where everyone has had their hands cut off.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

When you take a light perspective, it’s easier to step back and relax when your child doesn’t walk until fifteen months, . . . is not interested in playing ball, wants to be a cheerleader, doesn’t want to be a cheerleader, has clothes strewn in the bedroom, has difficulty making friends, hates piano lessons, is awkward and shy, reads books while you are driving through the Grand Canyon, gets caught shoplifting, flunks Spanish, has orange and purple hair, or is lesbian or gay.
    Charlotte Davis Kasl (20th century)

Belfast ... as uncivilised as ever—savage black mothers in houses of dark red brick, friendly manufacturers too drunk to entertain you when you arrive. It amuses me till I get tired.
