Famous quotes containing the words phoenix, object and/or basic:

    Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion’s paws,
    And make the earth devour her own sweet brood;
    Pluck the keen teeth from the fierce tiger’s jaws,
    And burn the long-liv’d phoenix in her blood;
    Make glad and sorry seasons as thou fleet’st,
    And do what’er thou wilt, swift-footed Time,
    To the wide world and all her fading sweets;
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    The great object in life is Sensation—to feel that we exist, even though in pain; it is this “craving void” which drives us to gaming, to battle, to travel, to intemperate but keenly felt pursuits of every description whose principal attraction is the agitation inseparable from their accomplishment.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)

    Insecurity, commonly regarded as a weakness in normal people, is the basic tool of the actor’s trade.
    Miranda Richardson (b. 1958)
