Further information: Penicillin drug reactionPhenoxymethylpenicillin is usually well tolerated but may occasionally cause transient nausea, vomiting, epigastric distress, diarrhea, and black hairy tongue. A previous hypersensitivity reaction to any penicillin is a contraindication.
