Peter Upton

Peter Upton is an English painter, author and poet who with his twin brother Roger Upton are both English Artists from an artistic family - their mother was a painter and their uncle Charles William Cain, a celebrated dry-point etcher called the 'Etcher of the East'. Roger's son Mark Upton continues the tradition.

Peter Upton has a worldwide reputation as an artist and author, specialising in the Arab Horse. He is an International Judge of Arab Horses and has twice been President of the Arab Horse Society of Britain, as well as Patron of the The New Zealand Arab Horse Breeders Society. Like his brother Roger, he has travelled extensively in the Middle East. He carries out extensive sketches whilst travelling, using biro on bankpaper, and then he paints the finished piece in his studio.

Exhibitions of his work have been held in the United Kingdom, the United States, Sweden and, as co-exhibitor with his nephew Mark Upton, in Jeddah. His paintings are much sought-after and can be found in private collections, including royal collections, throughout the world. He is also represented in the international collection, Nature in Art, the world’s first museum dedicated exclusively to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature.
