Public Involvement

Pella Corporation has been involved in local and national community and charitable works since 1952. The Kuyper Rolscreen Charitable Trust was established in 1952 by Pete and Lucille Kuyper. It was reorganized in 1968 as the Pella Rolscreen Foundation. The foundation's primary focus was supporting education, community betterment and giving; Matching Gifts, which was added in 1984.

Pete Kuyper shared a primary interest in supporting education, especially for Pella's Central College. Now, the foundation has funded grants and scholarships for sons and daughters of team members for over 300 students in higher education.

Pella also shares updates and news via the Twitter social networking site.

Famous quotes containing the words public and/or involvement:

Music is so much a part of their daily lives that if an Indian visits another reservation one of the first questions asked on his return is: “What new songs did you learn?”
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

Not only do our wives need support, but our children need our deep involvement in their lives. If this period [the early years] of primitive needs and primitive caretaking passes without us, it is lost forever. We can be involved in other ways, but never again on this profoundly intimate level.
    Augustus Y. Napier (20th century)
