Unresolved Storylines

Over the course of nine seasons, several of the series storylines contained unresolved issues that were never explained. These included:

• The fates of Charity Standish, David Hastings, Liz Sanbourne, Spike Lester, John Hastings, Hank Bennett, Martin Fitzgerald, Katherine Crane, and Rachel Barrett were never addressed in the series finale.
• Beth Wallace was implied to have died in a train explosion in 2006 along with her father Alistair Crane and kidnapped nephew Marty Lopez-Fitzgerald. However, both turned up alive, hinting that she survived as well.
• Jared Casey, Theresa's love interest for a time, was implied to have a secret past which was never revealed.
• Ivy Crane's blackmail schemes involving David and John Hastings was revealed in 2006, but the secret she was using to blackmail Hastings was never shown.
• Christopher Boothe's misdeeds as well as his lies regarding James Boothe's paternity was never revealed to Sheridan Crane.
• Kay Bennett's rape of Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald—through which their daughter was born—was never revealed.
