Paradise Rock Club

The Paradise Rock Club, formerly known as the Paradise Theater, is a small (933 person capacity) music venue in Boston, Massachusetts . Because of its small size, it appeals to top local rock and alternative performers as well American bands visiting Boston for the first time (R.E.M., Steve Earle, The Double Yellow). The venue also accommodates small music festivals as well as non music related events. The Paradise is located on the edge Boston University's campus and draws an excitable, student-based crowd. Most shows have an age requirement of eighteen or older.

Famous quotes containing the words paradise, rock and/or club:

Hermann and Humbert are alike only in the sense that two dragons painted by the same artist at different periods of his life resemble each other. Both are neurotic scoundrels, yet there is a green lane in Paradise where Humbert is permitted to wander at dusk once a year; but Hell shall never parole Hermann.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

    In the black of desire
we rock and grunt, grunt and
    shine
    Denise Levertov (b. 1923)

At first, it must be remembered, that [women] can never accomplish anything until they put womanhood ahead of wifehood, and make motherhood the highest office on the social scale.
“Jennie June” Croly 1829–1901, U.S. founder of the woman’s club movement, journalist, author, editor. Demorest’s Illustrated Monthly and Mirror of Fashions, pp. 24-5 (January 1870)
