"Paper Planes" was used in the trailer for Michael Moore's documentary Capitalism: A Love Story.

"Paper Planes" is parodied by Funny or Die with a music video released on July 27, 2010. The Los Angeles Dodgers used "Paper Planes" as their victory song during their three-week effort to win the National League West title in the 2008 season in the United States.
