Palmer Station - On Film

On Film

The 1981 Japanese film Fukkatsu no hi (Virus) revolves around Palmer Station as the gathering place for humanity's last survivors of a deadly virus. The film stars George Kennedy as Admiral Conway, the station's commanding officer and features Glenn Ford as the President of the United States. Much of the footage for the film was shot in the vicinity of Palmer Station, though none was actually filmed at the station.

Famous quotes containing the word film:

This film is apparently meaningless, but if it has any meaning it is doubtless objectionable.
—British Board Of Film Censors. Quoted in Halliwell’s Filmgoer’s Companion (1984)

I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you’re making a horror film doesn’t mean you can’t make an artful film.
    David Cronenberg (b. 1943)
