Outback Champions Series

Outback Champions Series

Since 2006, the Champions Series is a series of tennis tournaments designed for former members of the ATP tour. The Champions Series consists of tournaments played in select markets where legends of the sport compete in a highly competitive, fan-friendly, round robin format with a champion crowned on the last day of each event.

Eligible players competing on the Champions Series have either held a Top 5 singles ranking; been a Grand-Slam singles finalist, or a singles player on a championship Davis Cup team during their ATP tour playing careers. The Champions Series allows one wild card of their choice at each event. The series is produced by Inside Out Sports & Entertainment, based in New York City. The minimum age to participate in a tournament is 30.

Starting in 2009, some tournaments will use a six-player field, and the top two will automatically advance to the semifinals, while the other four competitors will have to play in order to advance to the semifinals.

All matches are two sets each, with a tiebreaker to ten points (must win by two) if the match is tied at one set each.
