Biological Pest Control
Orange oil can be used in biological pest control green pesticides, and can kill individual and colonies of ants and eradicate their "scent-pheromone trail" indicators to disrupt re-infestation. Their use in organic farming is getting increasingly important because of their non-toxic nature. They are commonly used in kitchens to safely repel insects.
Orange oil is also a popular tool for guaranteed safe and effective termite extermination of the Drywood (Kalotermitidae) variety.Tampa, Florida pest control company Citrugard Termite Control uses orange oil to prevent the tenting of residential homes and commercial buildings and temporarily relocate residents; as is necessary with traditional fumigation practices. Using a drill and injection technique, technicians drill holes in specific areas with termite activity and inject the orange oil into the holes. The orange oil then seeps into the surrounding areas to kill the termites without causing harm to humans and their pets.

Famous quotes containing the words biological, pest and/or control:
“In America every woman has her set of girl-friends; some are cousins, the rest are gained at school. These form a permanent committee who sit on each other’s affairs, who “come out” together, marry and divorce together, and who end as those groups of bustling, heartless well-informed club-women who govern society. Against them the Couple of Ehepaar is helpless and Man in their eyes but a biological interlude.”
—Cyril Connolly (1903–1974)
“The pest of society is egotists. There are dull and bright, sacred and profane, coarse and fine egotists. ‘Tis a disease that, like influenza, falls on all constitutions.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
“Surrealism, n. Pure psychic automatism, by which it is intended to express, whether verbally or in writing, or in any other way, the real process of thought. Thought’s dictation, free from any control by the reason, independent of any aesthetic or moral preoccupation.”
—André Breton (1896–1966)
