Sixth Form
The sixth form is currently made up of 60 students, spread across two year groups. A friendly, communal atmosphere is present. Although the Sixth Form block, which contains a Study Room and a Common Room,is based away from the central school building, all lessons take place in the main school buildings. The Sixth Form is part of the 16 to 19 Welwyn & Hatfield Consortium and as such offers a wide range of A-Level subjects. Within the school A-Levels in Mathematics, English, History, Art, Music, Business, ICT, Biology, Psychology and Sport are offered, as well as a range of BTECs. Monitored broadband access is available, along with limited kitchen facilities, disabled access and toilets. All Sixth Formers have the opportunity to take the Community Sports Leaders Award, and most go on to the university of choice.

Famous quotes containing the words sixth and/or form:
“The real dividing line between early childhood and middle childhood is not between the fifth year and the sixth yearit is more nearly when children are about seven or eight, moving on toward nine. Building the barrier at six has no psychological basis. It has come about only from the historic-economic-political fact that the age of six is when we provide schools for all.”
—James L. Hymes, Jr. (20th century)
“The old idea that the joke was not good enough for the company has been superseded by the new aristocratic idea that the company was not worthy of the joke. They have introduced an almost insane individualism into that one form of intercourse which is specially and uproariously communal. They have made even levities into secrets. They have made laughter lonelier than tears.”
—Gilbert Keith Chesterton (18741936)
