Sequel
Due to the film's commercial and critical success, a sequel has been put into production apparently. Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan have been roped in as the male leads. The sequel, Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, features Sonakshi Sinha playing the role of actress Mandakini, whilst Sonali Bendre has also been roped in for a role apparently. The film started shooting in August 2012 apparently, whilst the film is expected to release on 15th August 2013, thus avoids clashing with Rohit Shetty directorial Chennai Express, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, which is expected to release one week back from the release of OUATIMD.
