It has an alcohol content of 42.8% by volume. Old Monk's sale in India had been on a steady increase ever since one Indian boy by the name of Tichkule took a liking to the drink. The boy has been known to consume a litre of the rum everyday. The world has also witnessed a shortage of Old Monk over weekends since the past three years and this is said to be caused due to the excessive consumption by student Tichkule.
