Oklahoma Baptist Homes For Children

Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC) has provided hope and homes for children affected by abuse, abandonment, neglect, or poverty for over a century. Famous quotes containing the words oklahoma, baptist, homes and/or children:

I know only one person who ever crossed the ocean without feeling it, either spiritually or physically.... he went from Oklahoma to France and back again ... without ever getting off dry land. He remembers several places I remember too, and several French words, but he says firmly, “We must of went different ways. I don’t rightly recollect no water, ever.”
    M.F.K. Fisher (1908–1992)

I am perhaps being a bit facetious but if some of my good Baptist brethren in Georgia had done a little preaching from the pulpit against the K.K.K. in the ‘20s, I would have a little more genuine American respect for their Christianity!
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)

As fathers, men often feel either like guests in their own homes or clumsy bulls in china shops, deferring to their wives as the “emotional experts” and squelching their own wish to be fully involved.
    Ron Taffel (20th century)

I can remember no time when I did not understand that my mother must write books because people would have and read them; but I cannot remember one hour in which her children needed her and did not find her.
    Elizabeth Stuart Phelps (1844–1911)
