Nhat Son

Nhật Sơn was born on August 29, 1981 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam under the name Vũ Minh Sơn.
By age six he had started performing, singing traditional Vietnamese music under the stage name Cảnh Sơn. He travelled with a group of famous singers and comedians: Siu Black, Thanh Lam, Quang Linh, Minh Thuận, Duy Ngọc, Duy Phương, Hương Loan, Ngọc Thành and his sister Kiều Nhi, and become well-known with the songs ‘Lòng mẹ’ (Ngọc Sơn) and ‘Còn thương rau đắng mọc sau hè’ (Bắc Sơn).

At the age of 14 he had to stop singing for a while, because his voice started changing.
At 19 he made his comeback under his new stage name Nhật Sơn. Not singing traditional anymore, but Vietnamese POP-music.

At the end of 2006 he recorded his first album ‘Tôi vẫn hát’ (I still sing), which was released in January 2007.
Composers: Nguyễn Nhất Huy and Hoài An; arrangements: Lý Huỳnh Long; producer: Winfried Povel from The Netherlands.
From 3 of the 10 songs were made video clips by directors Đoàn Minh Tuấn and Lâm Lê Dũng.

In the Live-show ‘Tôi vẫn hát’ in Nhà Thi Đấu Nguyễn Du in HCMC he presented himself again to the audience. Director of the show: Lâm Lê Dũng.
It was recorded on tape and broadcast on TV. A few months later the DVD of that show was released.

In January 2008 his second album ‘Vết tình’ was released. Composers: Đỗ Đình Phúc & Lý Huỳnh Long, with all the same musicians and same crew.

In the meantime he was in many TV-shows like ‘Quà tặng trái tim’, ‘Gặp Gỡ Ngôi Sao’, ‘Saigon Teen’, ‘Teen Pop’, ‘Thế Giới Âm Nhạc’, ‘Trò Chuyện Với Ngôi Sao’, ‘Nhịp Cầu Nghệ Sĩ’, for National (HTV - VTV) and Regional Television (BTV - DNTV - THVL), and he performed on the big stages of HCMC like ‘Lan Anh’, ‘Không Tên’ and ‘Trống Đồng’.

Famous quotes containing the word son:

    All know that all the dead in the world about that place are stuck
    And that should mother seek her son she’d have but little luck
    Because the fires of Purgatory have ate their shapes away;
    I swear to God I questioned them and all they had to say
    Was fol de rol de rolly O.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
