NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency

The NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (French: Agence OTAN d'entretien et d'approvisionnement), abbreviated to NAMSA, is the main logistics agency of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The executive branch of the NATO Maintenance and Supply Organisation (NAMSO), NAMSA's main priority is in assisting NATO members in common procurement, particularly of spare parts and maintenance services for weapon systems that are common to multiple members' arsenals.

The headquarters of NAMSA are situated in the town of Capellen, in the commune of Mamer, in south-western Luxembourg. The site dominates the southern part of the town, occupying most of the town south of the route d'Arlon. During the Cold War, separate management units were maintained in Taranto, Italy, and Paris, France.

Famous quotes containing the words maintenance, supply and/or agency:

However patriarchal the world, at home the child knows that his mother is the source of all power. The hand that rocks the cradle rules his world. . . . The son never forgets that he owes his life to his mother, not just the creation of it but the maintenance of it, and that he owes her a debt he cannot conceivably repay, but which she may call in at any time.
    Frank Pittman (20th century)

Friends and contemporaries should supply only the name and date, and leave it to posterity to write the epitaph.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It is possible that the telephone has been responsible for more business inefficiency than any other agency except laudanum.... In the old days when you wanted to get in touch with a man you wrote a note, sprinkled it with sand, and gave it to a man on horseback. It probably was delivered within half an hour, depending on how big a lunch the horse had had. But in these busy days of rush-rush-rush, it is sometimes a week before you can catch your man on the telephone.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)
