Bus Service
There is a regular bus service between Dhaka and Kolkata along this national highway. The Government sponsored bus service was launched on June 19, 1999; the inaugural bus was received in Dhaka by Sheikh Hasina, the then-Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Rather than Government Bus, there are many direct private shuttle buses that travel from Kolkata(Karunamoye) to Dhaka (Malibug, Gulistan, Motijil) every day, e.g. Shohag, Eagle, Hanif.

Famous quotes containing the words bus and/or service:
“Id take the bus downtown with my mother, and the big thing was to sit at the counter and get an orange drink and a tuna sandwich on toast. I thought I was living large!... When I was at the Ritz with the publisher a few months ago, I did think, Oh my God, Im in the Ritz tearoom. ... The person who was so happy to sit at the Woolworths counter is now sitting at the Ritz, listening to the harp, and wondering what tea to order.... [ellipsis in source] Am I awake?”
—Connie Porter (b. 1959)
“The ruin of the human heart is self-interest, which the American merchant calls self-service. We have become a self- service populace, and all our specious comfortsthe automatic elevator, the escalator, the cafeteriaare depriving us of volition and moral and physical energy.”
—Edward Dahlberg (19001977)
