The Road Transport and Highways Ministry has cleared the widening of National Highway-24 starting from Ghaziabad to Dasna near Hapur in Uttar Pradesh involving an investment of Rs. 300 cr. The widening of this road stretch will enable motorists to drive straight to Corbett National Park and Nainital in the Uttrakhand. The newly cleared 28 km stretch is already four lanes road from Ghaziabad border to Dasna and is said to be one of the most congested NH corridors in the country. The completion of the widening process is expected to be completed in about three years after which it will be almost a signal free stretch. The project, which will be widened and there will also be a provision of constructing elevated structures, is being awarded on cash contract and on public private partnership (PPP) model and the ministry is hopeful of awarding it very shortly.

Famous quotes containing the words development of, development and/or highway:

John B. Watson, the most influential child-rearing expert [of the 1920s], warned that doting mothers could retard the development of children,... Demonstrations of affection were therefore limited. “If you must, kiss them once on the forehead when they say goodnight. Shake hands with them in the morning.”
    Sylvia Ann Hewitt (20th century)

Theories of child development and guidelines for parents are not cast in stone. They are constantly changing and adapting to new information and new pressures. There is no “right” way, just as there are no magic incantations that will always painlessly resolve a child’s problems.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)

The improved American highway system ... isolated the American-in-transit. On his speedway ... he had no contact with the towns which he by-passed. If he stopped for food or gas, he was served no local fare or local fuel, but had one of Howard Johnson’s nationally branded ice cream flavors, and so many gallons of Exxon. This vast ocean of superhighways was nearly as free of culture as the sea traversed by the Mayflower Pilgrims.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
