My Name Is Khan opened very well in most places across the world, and set many records in the process. However, the performance of the film could not sustain beyond the first or second week in some places, including India and USA. It grossed 72.75 crore (US$13 million) domestically, but still is generally regarded as "below expectations" due to the high price, while the overseas performance of the film has been record breaking. The film's worldwide collections reached 200 crore (US$34 million). and an 'All-time blockbuster' in overseas markets, where it was the highest grosser ever.
