Musick To Play in The Dark Vol. 2

Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 2 is an album by Coil currently in its third pressing in CD format; it was also released in double 12" vinyl format.

Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 2 was the second of two albums attributed purely to a style called "moon music," which signify their change from a "solar" group to a "moon" group. Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 1 was the first installment.

"An Emergency" is sung by Rose McDowall.

The lyrics of "Batwings (A Limnal Hymn)" have many references to Musaeum Clausum written by Sir Thomas Browne. This song was also played at John Balance's funeral service.

Famous quotes containing the words musick, play and/or dark:

So, when the last and dreadful Hour
    This crumbling Pageant shall devour,
The TRUMPET shall be heard on high,
The dead shall live, the living die,
And MUSICK shall untune the Sky.
    John Dryden (1631–1700)

Friends serve central functions for children that parents do not, and they play a critical role in shaping children’s social skills and their sense of identity. . . . The difference between a child with close friendships and a child who wants to make friends but is unable to can be the difference between a child who is happy and a child who is distressed in one large area of life.
    Zick Rubin (20th century)

    ... a full notecase,
Dull Bodley, draught beer, and dark blue,
And most often losing the Boat Race ...
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
