The history of a soldier’s wound beguiles the pain of it.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)

The history of his present majesty, is a history of unremitting injuries and usurpations ... all of which have in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states. Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Our science has become terrible, our research dangerous, our findings deadly. We physicists have to make peace with reality. Reality is not as strong as we are. We will ruin reality.
