Murray Falls

Murray Falls are located in Girramay National Park off the Bruce Highway between Tully and Cardwell, in Queensland, Australia. The falls drop 30 metres and may be viewed from a boardwalk and viewing platform. A one-kilometre walking track through the rainforest leads to a lookout, where the falls and the Murray Valley can be viewed.

In 2003, a man died in hospital after falling at the falls.

Other waterfalls in the Cardwell district include Wallaman Falls, Blencoe Falls and Attie Creek Falls.

Famous quotes containing the words murray and/or falls:

    Because you live, O Christ,
the spirit bird of hope is freed for flying,
our cages of despair no longer keep us closed and life-denying.
The stone has rolled away and death cannot imprison!
O sing this Easter Day, for Jesus Christ has risen!
    —Shirley Erena Murray (20th century)

    The last sunbeam
Lightly falls from the finished Sabbath,
On the pavement here, and there beyond it is looking,
    Down a new-made double grave,
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
