Junior Senior High School
Mountain View Junior Senior High School is located at 11749 State Route 106, Kingsley. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, in 2010, the school reported an enrollment of 616 pupils in grades 7th through 12th, with 240 pupils eligible for a federal free or reduced price lunch. The school employed 48 teachers yielding a student teacher ratio of 13:1. According to a report by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 18 teachers were rated "NonâHighly Qualified" under No Child Left Behind while 13 had emergency certification.
Mountain View Junior Senior High School declined to School Improvement I AYP status in 2011 due to lagging student achievement in mathematics. The school had been in Making Progress: in School Improvement I in 2009 and 2010. The school administration was required under No Child Left Behind to notify parents of the schools performance and to offer a transfer to an adequately achieving school in the district. The Pennsylvania Department of Education required the administration develop and submit for approval a plan to improve student achievement at the school.
