Mounds View Science Olympiad
The Mounds View Science Olympiad team has been one of the most successful Science Olympiad teams in Minnesota over the past decade. Since its founding in 2002, Mounds View Science Olympiad has won the Minnesota state tournament six times (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012) and represented Minnesota at the Science Olympiad national tournament in each of those years. The highest that Mounds View has finished at nationals is 15th, which occurred at the 2011 tournament at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Typically, the team medals (placing top 6) in one to three events at the national level. At the 2008 national tournament, Mounds View placed 2nd in Ecology, 6th in Robot Ramble, and 6th in Flying Bird. At nationals in 2011, Mounds View placed 1st in Fossils and 6th in Remote Sensing. Mounds View received a 6th in Disease Detectives at the 2012 national tournament.
