Mounds View Math Team

Following a tradition of Mounds View Mustang strength in inter-school competitions, the Mounds View Math Team is also one of the powerhouse teams in Minnesota. Although it competes in several invitational and smaller scale competitions, the team mainly focuses on the two main Minnesota mathematics competitions: the Minnesota State High School Mathematics League (MSHSML) and the Minnesota Math League. Since its beginning as a powerhouse in 1995, Mounds View has accumulated numerous prestigious championships. The biggest target championships of Mounds View (and the majority of top math teams in the state) are the MSHSML regular season championship (the team that has performed the best overall in the season), the MSHSML state tournament championship (the winner of a one-day meet between the top 35 teams of the regular season), and the Minnesota Math League Champions. Mounds View competes in the North Suburban division of the MSHSML, but division champ is more of an expectation than goal, since it has captured the 17 of the last 18 championship titles, only missing it in 1997.

Famous quotes containing the words view and/or team:

One might feel that, at my age, I should look on life with more gravity. After all, I’ve been privileged to listen, firsthand, to some of the most profound thinkers of my day ... who were all beset by gloom over the condition the world had gotten into. Then why can’t I view it with anything but amusement?
    Anita Loos (1894–1981)

They’re two good old friends of mine. I call them Constitution and The Bill of Rights. A most dependable team for long journeys. Then I’ve got another one called Missouri Compromise. And a Supreme Court—a fine, dignified horse, though you have to push him on every now and then.
    Dan Totheroh (1895–1976)
