Morning Express With Robin Meade - About The Show

About The Show

Airing each weekday from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern, Morning Express with Robin Meade provides news, weather, sports, entertainment, money, and travel reports every 30 minutes. The program featured "Viewer Quick Pick", which allowed viewers to choose which of three stories they would like to see during that newscast, "Salute To Troops", offering U.S. military men and women stationed anywhere in the world the opportunity to be recognized, in addition to other special segments. The show used to continue at 10 a.m. with a rotating cast of female anchors simply branded Morning Express, but as of April 2011 continues as Morning Express with Robin Meade until 12 p.m. Eastern.

Anchored by Robin Meade, the program also features meteorologist Bob Van Dillen, sports anchor Carlos Diaz, finance analyst Jennifer Westhoven and contributor Ryan Smith. The group of anchors appear friendly, at an upbeat pace, described by Stephen King as "his morning people" in his Entertainment Weekly column. The show is reportedly popular among young males 18-34 unlike most news programming which tend to have an older and more female viewership.

Between October 2008 and April 2009, the show was accompanied by the "Morning Express Challenge" Trivia game. The game ran from 8 to 10 a.m. Eastern and offered trivia on current events, polls, predictions and a chat room. Robin and the other correspondents often took part in the chat room and mentioned game players on the air. Trivia game players were eligible to win prizes that included trips, t-shirts, bathrobes, and a variety of others.

Famous quotes containing the word show:

So-called Western Civilization, as practised in half of Europe, some of Asia and a few parts of North America, is better than anything else available. Western civilization not only provides a bit of life, a pinch of liberty and the occasional pursuance of happiness, it’s also the only thing that’s ever tried to. Our civilization is the first in history to show even the slightest concern for average, undistinguished, none-too-commendable people like us.
