Morelos Nahuatl is a Nahuatl variety of central Mexico. It is one of the core varieties closest to Classical Nahuatl.
In 1935 William Cameron Townsend published a study of Tetelcingo Nahuatl, a Morelos dialect of the town of Tetelcingo and its colonias which has had some divergent changes in its vowels. The area has been largely absorbed into urban Cuautla, and Tetelcingo language and culture are under intense pressure. The following description is that of Tetelcingo Nahuatl, or Mösiehuali.
