Company History

MOMO was founded by gentleman racer Giampiero Moretti in 1964. MOMO are the initials for Moretti-Monza. Monza is a town in the Province of Milan.

In 1969 MOMO opened production plant in Tregnago, Province of Verona. Due to increasing federal safety regulations and the wide adoption of airbags in passenger vehicles MOMO was sold to Breed Technologies in 1996, a steering wheel airbag manufacturer. Breed Technologies was acquired by private equity firm Carlyle Management Group and merged with other OEM automotive businesses they owned to form Key Safety Systems in 2003. Key Safety Systems sold the MOMO brand name to an Italian private equity group in 2006, but most of the manufacturing plants and technologies previously owned by MOMO were retained by Key Safety Systems.

Famous quotes containing the words company and/or history:

Some fluctuating notions concerning repentance, virtue, honor, morality ... hovered around Lady Dellwyn’s thoughts but were too wavering to bring her to any fixed determination. She became a constant attendant from one public place to another, where she met with many mortifications. But yet even these were not quite so dreadful to her as to retire and be subjected to her own company alone.
    Sarah Fielding (1710–1768)

It’s a very delicate surgical operation—to cut out the heart without killing the patient. The history of our country, however, is a very tough old patient, and we’ll do the best we can.
Dudley Nichols, U.S. screenwriter. Jean Renoir. Sorel (Philip Merivale)
