Transport Links

Cobham Drive is the main road connecting Miramar with the rest of Wellington city. It runs around the north end of Wellington Airport, at Evans Bay. Public buses run frequently between Miramar and the city, and there are harbour ferry connections with other places around Wellington harbour, such as Queens Wharf, Days Bay, Petone, and Matiu/Somes Island. A wide and well-maintained cycle trail runs from Miramar to the central city, starting at Burnham Wharf and continuing along Cobham Drive, Evans Bay Parade, and Oriental Parade.

Famous quotes containing the words transport and/or links:

One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

All nationalisms are at heart deeply concerned with names: with the most immaterial and original human invention. Those who dismiss names as a detail have never been displaced; but the peoples on the peripheries are always being displaced. That is why they insist upon their continuity—their links with their dead and the unborn.
    John Berger (b. 1926)
