Grist Mill Park
In 2001, the town of Huntington, New York opened the Grist Mill Park on a plot adjacent to the west end of Mill Dam Bridge, the site of the former Rockhopper's restaurant, and Vengroff, Williams, & Associates Collection Agency, severely damaged during a fire a few years earlier. The Centerport-Greenlawn Historical Society donated the park's centerpiece, a historic gristmill millstone.

Famous quotes containing the words mill and/or park:
“Mathematics may be compared to a mill of exquisite workmanship, which grinds your stuff to any degree of fineness; but, nevertheless, what you get out depends on what you put in; and as the grandest mill in the world will not extract wheat flour from peascods, so pages of formulae will not get a definite result out of loose data.”
—Thomas Henry Huxley (18251895)
“Borrow a child and get on welfare.
Borrow a child and stay in the house all day with the child,
or go to the public park with the child, and take the child
to the welfare office and cry and say your man left you and
be humble and wear your dress and your smile, and dont talk
back ...”
—Susan Griffin (b. 1943)
