Sponsored Edition
For several years, Microsoft considered having an advertising-supported version of Works. In August 2007, it said that it would start piloting a version called Works SE (which stands for Sponsored Edition), but the company gave few details on where or how the product would be offered. Microsoft has subsequently started offering Works SE in a limited set of countries (United States, France, Canada, Poland and the United Kingdom) with little marketing to back it up, due to its being primarily a pilot project as of April 2008. Proof of this is shown in Microsoft Office Starter 2010 that includes advertising.

Famous quotes containing the words sponsored and/or edition:
“The poetic notion of infinity is far greater than that which is sponsored by any creed.”
—Joseph Brodsky (b. 1940)
“I knew a gentleman who was so good a manager of his time that he would not even lose that small portion of it which the calls of nature obliged him to pass in the necessary-house, but gradually went through all the Latin poets in those moments. He bought, for example, a common edition of Horace, of which he tore off gradually a couple of pages, read them first, and then sent them down as a sacrifice to Cloacina: this was so much time fairly gained.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
