Post-SNL
After her exit from SNL in September 2009, Watkins has returned to Los Angeles and continues to perform at The Groundlings.
Watkins had a supporting role in the romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan starring Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin. Watkins played the part of Mona, the longtime best friend of Jennifer Lopez. In December 2009, she returned for two episodes of The New Adventures of Old Christine, playing her recurring role of Lucy.
In 2011, Watkins appeared with recurring roles in the comedy programs Enlightened and New Girl. As well as making guest appearances on shows such as Hung, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Modern Family, she most recently appeared in the 2012 comedy Wanderlust starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston.
