In the Pakistan Armed Forces, mess uniform is only worn for high-level evening events. The style of the Pakistani mess dress largely resembles that of the British Armed Forces. Mess uniform is worn by Pakistani military officers posted abroad, either as Military attachés (Air attaché, Naval attaché, Defence attaché) or by high-ranking officers on official state visits. Senior military officers, such as one- to four-star officers, are required to wear mess dress on appropriate occasions during such visits or while attending state inaugurations. All mess uniforms are bespoke tailored for specific officers according to their assignments and ranks.
