Career
Rushden presented the breakfast show on BBC London 94.9 from December 2006 - March 2008. He has also presented on TalkSport, BBC Radio 5 Live and substituted for James Richardson on the Guardian's Football Weekly podcast between 2010 and 2012.
On 1 May 2010, Rushden competed in charity football match at Old Trafford. He played on the Rivals team as he supports Cambridge United. Playing in a team including Ian Rush, John Barnes and Dave Beasant he played against a team featuring ex-United stars including Jaap Stam, Dwight Yorke and Denis Irwin.
He did feature in Dion Dublin's legends game at the Abbey Stadium on 27 April 2009. He played alongside Cambridge United heroes including; Andy Fensome, Liam Daish, John Taylor and Lee Philpott. Rushden started on the bench but came on after 20 minutes for Liam Daish, telling Dion Dublin to go to and play at centre-back whilst he wandered up front. He did very little in truth, but was heavily involved in two of the goals. He also had a header rebound off the bar. Rushden failed to score the goal at the Abbey Stadium that he would have dreamed about as a kid, growing up as a supporter of Cambridge United.
